Well here in London things have certainly been hotting up over the past few hours- banks being stormed and frankly some of the strongest crowds of protesters I've ever seen! I barely remember the riots of the 80's that broke out over the pole tax, so this is extraordinary for me to witness.
I used to work opposite the Bank of England and to see such a usually placid area totally overwhelmed is astounding.
I truly hope that this summit is worth all the heartache that our protesters are going through- although it does make me wonder if there are not similar protests happening around the world as Gordon hosts the world leaders- surely some terrorist activity is not far behind such an occasion? the opportunity to destroy the Chinese leader Hu, Sarkozy and Obama- not to mention Brown who has a dismal following here? The mind boggles frankly- am almost dissappointed in the minimal amount of activity here- or perhaps when the protestors get to Trafalgar something epic will happen?.... We are watching this space...
